This foundational knowledge equips them with the skills necessary to provide compassionate and effective Nursing care.


Clinical Experience And Healthcare Settings:

Beyond the classroom, the College of Nursing places a strong emphasis on clinical experience and engagement in diverse healthcare settings. Students have opportunities to work in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities, gaining hands-on experience in patient care. These experiences not only enhance their clinical skills but also provide valuable insights into healthcare delivery.


Global Health Perspectives And International Nursing Practice:

The College of Nursing at Mid Island University is committed to promoting global health perspectives and fostering international Nursing practice. Our curriculum explores international approaches to healthcare and encourages students to engage in Nursing initiatives with global impact. Additionally, we offer study abroad programs and collaborate with Nurses from around the world, enabling students to gain a global perspective on Nursing.

This course is especially designed to give you an in depth knowledge about the Nursing Assistance. Topics of this course include Introduction to Health Care, Environmental Safety, Accident Prevention, and Disaster Plans.


This course will examine drugs used to treat diseases that affect various organs of the body (e.g. cardiovascular disease, neurological diseases, etc.) and some fundamental principles. There will be emphasis on how the drugs target organ, the mechanisms of drug action, and adverse effects of the drugs on the system


This comprehensive course prepares you to care for adult clients with medical or surgical disorders or diseases. With an emphasis on the nursing role, it explains the risk factors, causes, and pathophysiology of common disorders and diseases, and reviews diagnostic tests and medical management of the disorders.


This course is designed for you to gain an in-depth knowledge about Maternity and Pediatrics Nursing. The topics of this course include Legal and Ethical Issues in Maternal-Child Nursing, Reproductive Anatomy and Physiology, Health Promotion of the Newborn and Adapting Procedures in the Care Of Children.


This course focuses on the advanced concepts in Nursing. The topics of this course include Acute Pain in the High Acuity Patient, Alterations in Pulmonary Gas Exchange, Mechanical Ventilation, Alterations In Cardiac Output, Oxygenation and Shock States

This course delivers essential understanding of complex patients and instructs you on how to provide nursing care in varied clinical settings. As the topics progress in difficulty; this course addresses the multiple-system problems that nurses face when caring for high acuity patients.


This course is a comprehensive resource on leadership and management specific to nursing professionals. Topics include details of the leadership and management skills need to perform professionally in today's nursing profession. Health care quality, policy, issues and diversity is also detailed in the course.


Legal and ethical issues in nursing continue to increase in scope and importance as profession struggles with complex technology, impacts of nursing shortages in all practice settings, and increasing demands of consumers. This course meets these needs. Course also details tort law, employment laws, and selected federal laws for nurses.


This course reflects the core value of family-centered care. Recognizing the family as the central influence in each child's life and respect for families of all cultures makes this course unique and detailed for nursing profession. Care for child with certain disorders is also included in the course.


Using strong pathophysiology prototype approach to place drugs in context with how they are used therapeutically, this course gives you an apparent picture of different alternate therapies for drugs. Course provides details on relationship between disorders and their drugs; which drugs should be used? And how they affect the disorder?
